The Engineering and Design Core Facility (EDCF) provides researchers a variety of engineering services, including:
Analog and digital circuit design, embedded microcontrollers, industrial controls, printed circuit board design, etc.
3D solid modeling and analysis, finite element simulation, motion studies, tolerance stack-up analysis, model rendering, engineering drawlings, etc.
Commercial lens system design, optical measurement processes, machine vision systems, opto-mechanical hardware design, etc.
Fabrication management, assembly, testing, and quick-turn prototyping (microcontrollers, motor controls, sensors, and wireless integration), etc.
Machine interfacing, control panel programming, algorithm development, wireless webservers, etc.
Equipment integration, instrumentation development, and interfacing/control, etc.
The current hourly user rates for the Engineering and Design Core Facility are as follows:
Notre Dame users: $84.00/hour
External users: $123.00/hour
